Harar, Ethiopia – October 2024 – In a significant step towards improving sanitation in Harar City, the Harari Regional Water and Sewerage Authority has officially entered into a contract with MS Consultancy. This partnership aims to construct fecal sludge treatment plants (FSTPs), Sewer, and WWTP in Harar City, marking a crucial development in the region’s wastewater management infrastructure.

The contract duration of the consultancy service is two years. This initiative is expected to enhance the capacity of the city’s sewage treatment systems, ultimately contributing to improved public health and environmental sustainability.

The agreement was signed by Mr. Dini Ramadan, Chief Executive Officer of the Harari Water and Sewerage Authority, and Mr. Desalegn Getachew, Deputy Managing Director of MS Consultancy. The project work commenced in Ifa, signaling the start of a vital process aimed at addressing the challenges posed by wastewater in the region.
