On October 31st,2022, MS Consultancy plc. signed a contract agreement with Adama Town Water Supply and Sewerage Service Enterprise (AWSSSE) for the Design Review, Construction Supervision, and Contract Administration of Adama Town Water Supply and Sanitation Improvement Project.
Adama Town’s water supply system, drawing around 1,500 m3/day of water from Awash River, was inaugurated and commissioned in November 2002. As the existing water supply system has exceeded its design phase and has often encountered failures (i.e., power interruptions), water shortage in Adama is a current challenge.
Furthermore, assessment studies have indicated existing water supply systems are inadequate to meet the current and future demands of Adama Town, Wonji, and surrounding kebeles. To alleviate the prevailing potable water supply shortage and improve the living conditions of its inhabitants, AWSSSE has secured a loan from the African Development Bank (AfDB).
