After submission of the Draft Detail Design and the Draft ESIA Reports, MS Consultancy’s team-which had been working tirelessly on the project – successfully presented their work to relevant stakeholders. The workshop appraisal, organized on the 16th of May 2022 at Mado Hotel (Addis Ababa), was attended by various professionals from AAWSA. The appraisal workshop aimed at presenting the Draft Detail Design and Draft ESIA Reports and created a platform for stakeholders to discuss and raise pertinent issues that should be addressed and updated in both final reports.
The Consultant’s team, comprised of 4 professionals specializing in different fields, gave a series of 4 presentations on (1) the exisiting situational assessment, (2) the Detail Design of the 12 Condominium WWTPs, (3) environmental and social impact Assessment Study, and (4) the structural Design of proposed WWTPs. Amongst many issues raised, stakeholders expressed their concern toward the design of sewer lines, the ESIA Report, issues relating to operation and maintenance, and technical specifications required for tender document preparation.
The workshop concluded on a positive note where both the Client and the Consultant agreed to urgently conclude the Final Detail Design Report.
