The commencement ceremony for Jijiga Town Water Supply Project (Phase-II) took place on the 26th of June, 2021, in the presence of the Somali Region President, Ato Mustapha Mohammed Omar.
The Somali Regional State (SRS) Water Bureau issued an invitation for proposal to provide consulting services for the ” Construction, Supervision, and Contract Administration for the Completion of Jijiga Town Phase-II Water Supply Project” to MS Consultancy.
During the ceremony, MS Consultancy’s Managing Director Ato Mesfin Shenkut, gave a speech in regards to water supply and the overall project. Personnel from China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) were also present at the launching ceremony.
The SRS Water Bureau secured a budget from the government to complete Jijiga’s Phase-II Water Supply Project. The water supply project, which is an improvement and expansion of the existing system, consumes groundwater sources from the Faafan well fields.
